My parents bought my first pair of running shoes in 1982. Being small for my age, I had to get women's shoes, the Adidas Lady Oregon. From that moment I was a running shoe junky. With no lasting brand loyalty, I went from Adidas Lady Oregons to Asics Jayhawkes to Nike Air Edges to Adidas Marathon Racers to Nike Sock Trainers to Asics Gel Epirus.

I personally went from running 5K and 10K fun runs to summer track to middle school track to high school track to The University of Texas Track. At The University of Texas I focused on the 5,000 meters and the 3,000 meter Steeple Chase.

Now a days I run for health and enjoyment and derive satisfaction from coaching other runners. I will run my first marathon this June, Grandma's Marathon.

And I am still a shoe junky.
